Jonny Was is an LA-based band,
formed by 3 Hollywood guys influenced by punk, pop-punk, emo,
alternative, and even 80's big hair bands (okay, that's just Shane.) Together for 2 years now,
the band packs clubs like The Roxy and The Troubadour, and has
recorded both an old 4 song
demo.
(Connects to mp3's of 2 demo songs), and a new 5-song cd
complete with packaging and on sale at the shows.
Probably most
exciting is the inclusion of their song "So What Does It All
Mean?" (Connects to mp3 "preview." Couldn't find a whole one, sorry)
on the soundtrack of A Walk to Remember
starring the band's
own Shane West.
The Big Roxy Show
The day after that movie's
release, Shane, Ben, and Jerry found themselves playing for their
largest crowd ever, when they sold out The Roxy in Hollywood, still
under the name Average Jo. There were screaming girls, press
photographers in the crowd, and security guards holding back fans
after the show.
Everybody is still reeling from that
one.
At Any Johnny Was Show. . .
~You might hear people screaming repeatedly, "Jerry,
take your shirt off!
Come on, Jerry!"
~Someone might hand Shane, onstage, a cell phone
with a fan on the other end. (And he talked to them!)
~Shane might still be
pushing the 2 free cd's after
they've already been
grabbed.
~Aaron Paul might jump
up onstage and sing the
Woooaahhhs on
"Reliable Burbank."
~Anybody from Rachel
Leigh Cooke, to Billy Campbell
from "Once and Again,"
to Darryl Hannah, may show
up.
SEE YOU AT THE NEXT SHOW!!
